PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Oct 2019 - March 2020
ATELIER CARACO
Working at Atelier Caraco was a very valuable learning experience. Atelier Caraco works closely with luxury fashion houses and simultaneously on costume design projects. I was lucky to work on a big production of Les Noces de Figaro for the Theatre des Champs Elysee. As well as Swan lake for L'Opera Bastille and a variety of Haute Coutre brands during Paris Fashion week. My main responsibilities included, hand sewing, restoration and detail work.
Aug 2019 - Oct 2019
ATELIER LES VERTUGADINS
My experience working at Les Vertugadins was critical to my understanding of costume design. Here I was able to work with materials other then fabrics. Such as metals, glue, paints, dyes and leather. I learned that costume design isn't always about making beautiful dresses and perfect seams. Many times costumes need to appear naturally old, used and weathered and accomplishing this is no easy feat!
July 2018 - Sept 2018
ATELIER MBV
Interning at MBV was an amazing opportunity. I worked closely with the head designer for an Italian production of Cinderella. Here I worked on corsets, dresses, and simple embroideries. I learned a lot about hand stitching and perfected my use of industrial machinery.
April 2018 - May 2018
EURO COSTUME
Euro Costume was very different from my other internships. It is a costume warehouse where productions for movies and tv shows rent costumes. Instead of creating costumes I got to see another side of the industry. Where retouching and maintaining old authentic clothing is most of the work.
